This was a great hike. None of us had hiked here before so we did extra exploring. Dawson Springs had been devastated by the December 2021 tornado and this trail had numerous trees down all along the path. We did fine climbing under and over all the debris.
This was a major scrammble for us old people. There were ropes in parts of this section to help us get up. Nancy O struggled the most and I felt so bad that we didn't make the decision to turn around and hike back out instead of up.

Another Visit to Pine Knob
Wanted my hiking friends to see this amazing place so we headed back down the week after Wendell and I went. They were impressed too. We stopped at The Diner in Fordsville for lunch on the way home. We even picked up a free meal the local churches were handing out while we were there.

Pine Knob, Ky

Pine Knob, Ky is only an hour away from Owensboro. This place is so amazing. It's not an easy hike by any means but once you get up the initial couple of climbs it's not bad.
These holes in the photo above are very deep in the rock. Wendel thinks they were made by Indians for grinding grain.
